Build the operating backbone.
Create reliable systems, workflows and processes that allow DNM to operate efficiently as the volume of artists, releases and business activity grows.
DNM is building an entire ecosystem for independent artists — one that is ambitious in scope and accessible at the same time. We're looking for the people who want to help build the company behind that vision.
Music distribution is only one part of an independent artist's journey. The larger opportunity lies in building the ecosystem around that journey.
DNM's vision is to build an entire ecosystem for independent artists — bringing together the infrastructure, services, technology, growth capabilities and opportunities artists need to build sustainable careers.
And just as important as the breadth of that ecosystem is its accessibility. We want the opportunities and infrastructure of a serious music company to be available to independent artists, rather than becoming something reserved only for artists who have already achieved scale.
This is a substantially larger ambition than becoming another distributor. It requires building capabilities across the company, continuously expanding what DNM can offer, and eventually operating at a scale where the ecosystem can support a significant number of independent artists.
DNM is still a small company. The ambition, however, is considerably larger than the organisation that exists today.
The next phase means operating at a much larger scale, acquiring significantly more artists, building a serious marketing and acquisition engine, strengthening day-to-day operations, developing technology and systems, and creating new commercial opportunities around the independent music ecosystem.
That cannot be achieved indefinitely by a small core team doing everything themselves. The company now needs more capability, more expertise and more people who can take ownership of meaningful parts of the business.
That is why we are building the DNM Founding Team.
The DNM Founding Team will be made up of early employees who join while the company is still building many of the functions, systems and processes that will eventually support it at scale.
You will not be joining a finished organisation to inherit a perfectly defined position. You will be joining early enough to help establish how that part of the organisation works.
As DNM grows, the people who build these functions early can grow with them — taking on larger responsibilities, leading teams and potentially becoming heads of departments and future senior leaders within DNM.
That progression will be earned, not promised. The opportunity is to be early enough that your contribution can materially influence what the company becomes.
We are not restricting this search to one job title. These are the areas where we expect strong people to create significant value as DNM grows.
Create reliable systems, workflows and processes that allow DNM to operate efficiently as the volume of artists, releases and business activity grows.
Identify promising independent artists, understand their potential and help build a stronger artist pipeline.
Develop DNM's brand, campaigns, content and acquisition strategy to reach significantly more artists and customers.
Turn DNM's vision, products, artists and ideas into a social presence people want to follow and engage with.
Own performance marketing, paid acquisition, experimentation, measurement and the continuous improvement of campaigns.
Build commercial relationships and help turn DNM's growing ecosystem of services into sustainable business.
Develop products, internal tools, automation and technology that allow DNM to serve more artists without simply adding more manual work.
Create the systems, reporting and financial thinking required for a company preparing to operate at much greater scale.
Help establish the legal frameworks, processes and safeguards required as DNM expands its ecosystem and operations.
Identify partnerships, new markets, new business models and opportunities that can move DNM beyond its current boundaries.
We are looking for people who want to participate in building something new and growing — not simply step into an established organisation and operate inside a system someone else has already finished.
You may not know everything today. You should be capable of learning quickly, adapting and becoming effective in unfamiliar territory.
You want to build something meaningful and are willing to take on responsibility as the opportunity grows.
You can take a goal, work out the path and make progress without requiring constant supervision or hand-holding.
You take responsibility for outcomes. You notice errors, solve problems and care about what happens after the task is marked complete.
You question assumptions, understand why things work and naturally look for better ways to do them.
You are comfortable choosing an uncertain opportunity with significant upside over the safety of an already-established path.
DNM is not an established corporation with every system, department and hierarchy already in place. That is precisely what makes this opportunity different.
The team is remote. For now, there is no office environment. Strong communication, self-management and accountability therefore matter.
The resources are limited. We cannot compete financially with established companies today. What we can offer is meaningful responsibility, direct access to the people building DNM, exposure to the full business and the opportunity to grow with the company.
The structure can be flexible. For people without another substantial commitment, a full-time arrangement may make sense. For others, part-time involvement may be more appropriate. The structure will depend on the role, the person and the circumstances.
Your contribution can directly affect how DNM operates and grows.
You'll have direct exposure to decisions, problems and opportunities rather than being buried inside layers of management.
You'll gain experience across the realities of building an early-stage company.
Strong contributors can take on larger scopes, lead functions and grow toward senior leadership as DNM scales.
Tell us about your experience, capabilities, ambitions and where you believe you can contribute to DNM.
We'll evaluate the application for capability, ownership, learning ability and potential contribution.
Depending on the area, shortlisted candidates may be given a practical problem to solve.
We'll discuss the opportunity, expectations, working structure, compensation and the potential path ahead.
It refers to early employees who will help build the foundations of DNM while the company is still at an early stage. It does not mean co-founder or founder status.
Yes. DNM operates remotely for now. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, communicating clearly and maintaining accountability in a remote environment.
There will be clear areas of responsibility, but we are intentionally keeping the initial search broad. The right person may contribute across more than one function as the company develops.
The intention is to give strong early contributors increasing responsibility as DNM grows. Future heads of departments and senior leadership will naturally emerge from people who demonstrate that they can build and lead.
DNM cannot currently compete financially with established companies. Compensation will be discussed based on the role, experience, availability and scope of responsibility, with full-time or part-time structures considered where appropriate.
DNM is small today. The ambition is not. If you want to help build the ecosystem that the next generation of independent artists can rely on, this is the time to get involved.
